The Annotated Nurse ("we," "us," "our") is committed to protecting the privacy of nursing students and educators who use our platform. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

1. Information we collect

• Account information: first name, last name, username, and email address you provide at sign-up.
• Study data: notebooks, flashcards, case study attempts, study streaks, exam dates, and progress metrics you create or generate inside your dashboard.
• Payment data: subscription status and billing events processed by our payment provider (Stripe). We do not store full card numbers on our servers.
• Usage data: page views, feature interactions, device type, and approximate location derived from IP address, used to improve the product.

2. How we use information

• To provide your personalized dashboard, library, and study tools.
• To process subscription payments and prevent fraud.
• To send transactional email (account, billing, support) and, if you opt in, study reminders.
• To improve our content, archetype engine, and learning recommendations.

3. Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with vetted processors that help us run the platform — for example, our hosting, payment, and email providers — under contractual confidentiality and security obligations.

4. Your data, your control

All content you create — notebooks, flashcards, uploads, progress — remains in your account until you delete it. You can update your profile, reset your password, or request account deletion at any time by contacting support.

5. Security

Data is transmitted over TLS and stored with encryption at rest. Access to production systems is restricted to authorized personnel and logged. No system is perfectly secure, so we recommend using a strong, unique password.

6. Children's privacy

The Annotated Nurse is intended for users 18 years or older. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

7. Changes

We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email or an in-app notice before they take effect.
